Producing Experience

PRODUCER/ARTISTIC & PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

Working in tandem with his creative partner, Executive Artistic Director, Gary Landis, Dan strove to produce high quality theater for four seasons with Los Altos Stage Company, a semi-professional traditional American playhouse in Los Altos, CA on the San Francisco Bay's southern peninsula. As the company's Production Manager and then Associate Artistic Director, Dan collaborated with Landis on ongoing season planning, branding efforts, and program development projects while providing production oversight for five Mainstage productions per season, ensuring that all production team deliverables were met. Dan recruited, hired, and managed dozens of independent contractors throughout the production season, liaising with casts, crew, designers, directors, board members, and fellow theater staff to maintain the highest level of communication and output during each show's rehearsal and performance period.

Throughout his CMTSJ tenure he assisted with season planning, conducted recruiting activities for contract positions, interacted with Board Members, theater executives, vendors, parents, students, and others as needed. Dan served as a Staff Liaison at events, performances, work sessions, and rehearsals, managed special projects and writing assignments, conducted research and reporting as needed, and built and maintained the theater's show calendars and master calendar.
